Watercare Services had two old channel monster units that were no longer being used. They had been run to failure and switched off several years ago being left in-situ.
Units were heavily ragged up, bearing had collapsed and allowed the shafts to grind together.
Maintenance staff decided to get them running again to assist with the increasing levels of solids they are currently seeing.
Pump and Valve were asked to assess and repair the units and bring them back to new condition.
P&V Engineering team stripped and reconditioned the channel monsters, sand blasting the steel body and re-coating it with epoxy. Gears were stripped back and repaired, bearings, seals cutter stacks replaced, and motor rewound to give the results you can see here.
