KTM Micro-Bubble Generator

Description

KTM Micro-Bubble Generator

The Nikuni KTM is a compact, high-efficiency micro-bubble generator designed to produce pressurised, air-enriched “whitewater” for dissolved air flotation (DAF) and other mixing/micro-bubble applications. By combining three functions in one machine—air induction, air-water dissolution, and pumping—the KTM simplifies DAF systems, reduces ancillary equipment, and cuts running and maintenance costs.

How it Works

The KTM uses a regenerative turbine stage to shear and dissolve induced air into the recirculating water stream, creating a stable micro-bubble suspension (whitewater). This whitewater promotes rapid attachment to suspended solids, improving flotation and clarifying performance in DAF systems—without a separate compressor in many cases.

Model Options

  • Mounting: Base-mounted / close-coupled monoblock (varies by size)

  • Materials: Cast iron/SS (F) or all-stainless (N/S), SS316 optional

  • Electrical: 50 Hz (NZ standard); 60 Hz versions available

Three functions in one unit – induces air, dissolves it via a precision turbine impeller, and pumps whitewater to the flotation tank/process.

High dissolution efficiency – turbine technology and unique hydraulic design achieve very effective air-into-water dissolution (excellent whitewater stability).

Simplified DAF operation – often eliminates compressors and ancillary vessels, reducing footprint and complexity.

Compact, easy retrofits – small footprint; ideal for upgrading existing DAF plants.

Lower power & maintenance – efficient process, smaller motors, and a robust, simple construction.

Materials – “F” models with cast-iron wetted parts (SS impeller/shaft); “N/S” models in SS304 (SS316 optional).

  • Food, beverage & dairy wastewater (including seafood, poultry, bakeries, laundries)
  • Drinking-water treatment & desalination
  • Municipal wastewater, power stations
  • Automotive, chemical, petroleum/oil & gas
  • Paper mills & textiles

If you’re unsure, we’ll size a unit for your process.

Reference duty points below are at 0.4 MPa discharge and ~8% air injection. 60 Hz models available on request.
